Draft Minutes

1. Called to order at 9:00 am, Members present; Don Maranell, Scott Bates, Ed McCreary. Not present; Kathryn Burchenal

2. Discussion of Ordinances:

a. Don noted that Kathryn Burchenal gave him input on ordinances that she had concerns about and will share these during the meeting.

b. A general discussion was held going through the ordinance. Specific Ordinances that generated concern and suggested changes are as follows:

· SBO-1 Streets and Sidewalks: clarify responsibilities for commissioners and the board.

· SBO-3 Parking: delete 2.d). Allow parking on Church Street on both sides from Borough Hall to Church Street.

· SBO-7 Garbage and Recycling: Don Maranell will rewrite this ordinance to comply with the Town’s Ordinance and address other Borough issues.

· SBO-10 Peddling, Vending, Soliciting: Change wording to make it consistent with SBO-08 Public Property. This will make it clear that all public property is included in this ordinance.

· SBO-14 Fire Department: In Section 1.: Add wording to allow other Borough officials to order the chief to respond to emergencies in the absence of the Warden or Fire Commissioner.

· SBO-17 P&Z and ZBA: Discuss with subject boards about adding wording to require review by Borough Departments of submissions in either this ordinance or in their regulations.

· SBO 19 Land Use Fees : Ask P&Z and ZBA if they need to update fees.

· General comment: Separate regular ordinances and appropriations ordinances into two booklets.

3. Meeting adjourned at 9:50 am (motion: Bates). Passed unanimously.
