Santa Delivery

Stonington Borough Vol. Fire Company Fundraiser event

This year when Santa drives by your house on the fire truck, he can drop off a gift to your children.

If interested, the fire company is asking that you drop off a wrapped gift for your child.  We just need the name of the child and the address of delivery.  Santa will come by your house and deliver that gift to your child during our drive through the district.  The time will be in a range between 4 pm-8 pm.  We can deliver to those families living within districts or associations served by the Stonington Borough Fire Dept.:  Borough, Upper District, Wamphassuc Pt and Lord's Point.

Date: December 15 4-8pm

Cost: $20 donation per household.  Checks can be made out to SBVFC or cash accepted.

Gift Drop off:

100 Main Street, Stonington Borough Fire Dept.

RSVP:  December 1, 2018.  Limited availability.

All gifts are due to the firehouse by December 3 so we can plan our route.  Questions?  Asst. Chief Theresa Hersh (860-535-0329 ext.102) assistantchief@stoningtonvfd.org

After seven months of work, the Borough Charter Revision Commission forwarded its final report to the Board of Warden & Burgesses in mid-August.  At its regular monthly meeting on August 20th, the Board unanimously approved the report, which is found here.   The most significant changes in the revised charter are to reduce the number of burgesses on the Board from six to four;  to consolidate commissioner duties among the five members of the Board; to make the position of clerk-treasurer an appointed rather than elected position; and to eliminate the position of tax collector.  The revised charter will be on the ballot in the next Borough election in May 2019.
