KNOX BOXES

Knox-Box, known officially as the KNOX-BOX Rapid Entry System, is a small, wall-mounted safe that holds building keys for fire departments to retrieve in emergency situations. Local fire companies can hold master keys to all boxes in their response area, so that they can quickly enter a building without having to force entry.  This reduces the risk of property damage.  If you would like more information or would like to install a Knox Box at your home or property, please contact the Fire Department at (860) 535-0329.

In May, the Charter Revision Commission submitted its first draft to the Board of Warden & Burgesses.  Since then, the Board has been reviewing the draft and has begun editing it.  Both the Commission's draft and the current (June 21) Board-edited version are posted under the Charter Revision Commission tab to the left.  Prior to its July 16th meeting the Board will conduct one more public hearing to receive input, and during the meeting the Board will discuss and vote on a version to be sent back to the Commission for its consideration.
