NOTICE OF INFORMATIONAL MEETING

 

 

RE:  NEW DIGITAL FLOOD INSURANCE RATE MAPS

 

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is in the process of updating the flood insurance rate maps (FIRM) for Stonington and all of Connecticut.   These new maps will be implemented in mid October of 2009, and will initiate a 90 day appeal period for affected communities.

 

All residents of Stonington Borough are encouraged to attend an informational meeting where a representative from FEMA and the State of Connecticut DEP will explain the impacts this new mapping will have on the community.
